Skills beyond the classroom
Cycle 4 encourages interdisciplinary learning, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking through projects and group work.

Yes. LFKL is part of the AEFE network, which means we follow the exact same Programme de l'Éducation Nationale taught in France and in 138 other countries. Your child can transfer at any point in the year to any of the 500+ AEFE schools worldwide: grades, records, and class level recognised automatically, no entrance exam, no re-tested year. Many of our middle school students have already done one or two relocations; the curriculum continuity is what makes that possible.
-
Yes, same exam, same standards, same calendar. Our 3ème students sit the Diplôme National du Brevet designed and graded by the French Ministry of Education, with continuous coursework counting alongside the written tests (French, Maths, History-Geography, Moral & Civic Education) and an oral. Most of our students then continue to LFKL High School, building on a curriculum that has been continuous since Hevea.

Yes, it's what the school is designed for. Every middle school student studies English daily, plus a choice of German, Spanish, Mandarin, or Bahasa Melayu as a third language. Students with strong English can also join our British International Section (SIB), which adds 3+ hours per week of subjects taught and examined in English. IGCSE preparation begins in 4ème, with the English 1st Language exam at the end of 3ème — the first step toward the dual French Baccalauréat + British International Option (BFI) diploma at the end of high school.
-
International ones, sat annually, recognised worldwide. By the end of 3ème, most of our students leave with two or three of: Cambridge or IELTS (English), DELF (French), DELE (Spanish), HSK (Mandarin). These are the same certifications universities and employers recognise globally — built into the curriculum at no extra cost beyond exam fees, and a real asset on a future university application.
-
Most of our students continue at LFKL through High School (Seconde, Première, Terminale) to prepare for the French Baccalauréat, the diploma that opens university entry in more than 60 countries. From Seconde, students tailor their path by choosing specialty subjects across nine fields, from Mathematics and Sciences to Foreign Languages, Economics, Digital Technology, History-Geopolitics, Arts, and Literature & Philosophy. From there, our graduates head to universities in France, the UK (including Russell Group institutions), the US (Ivy League and selective liberal arts colleges), Australia, Singapore, and around Asia.
-
From 6ème onwards, students are expected to manage increasing levels of homework and project work independently. Teachers use Pronote, the school’s digital platform, to log assignments and grades so parents can track workload and progress in real time.
